I just read two books that are very different, but go together in a strange way.
The first is Take Me to Your Leader by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. It explores all the ways aliens from space have been treated in fiction and culture, and how they could and could not be real.
The second is My Body by Emily Ratajkowski. It is a collection of essays published in various places. It shows how model, actress, and entrepreneur Ratajkowski was used and mis-used in the fashion and film industries and society in general. And by extension, all women.
I’m a reader of sci-fi from an early age, and a professional writer of sci-fi since I retired from aerospace. For me, the worlds of fashion and film were revealed as strange as those of non-human worlds.
I highly recommend both.
